Young  Producers

A free training opportunity for Coventry-based 16-22 year olds to find out more about making arts events happen.

The process gave me an excellent overview into what goes into creating a festival, as well as the confidence that producing an event is something I am capable of doing.

What is the Young Producers programme?

This is a collaborative programme delivered by Warwick Arts Centre and China Plate. It seeks to help young people develop employability and interpersonal skills, whilst being creative.

Young Producers get to work with new people and take the lead in producing a festival of events, alongside professionals.

They gain insight into what it takes to put on arts events including project planning, budgeting, marketing, project delivery and evaluation. They also hear from professionals working in the arts talk about what a career in the arts looks like.

“I absolutely loved it! Gaining practical experience by actually putting on an event has been life-changing. I didn’t know what a producer actually did before I started the programme and now I want to be one.”
