Imagine an orchestra of friends: a hand-picked premiership team of Europe’s finest young professional players, coming together to perform music they love with all the commitment of a great string quartet, and all the brilliance of a top virtuoso soloist. That’s the European Union Chamber Orchestra, and under Hans-Peter Hofmann everything they play sparkles with the joy of shared music-making. So imagine the fun as they’re unleashed on five of the baroque era’s most brilliant concertos.

Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos and Handel’s Concerto Grosso gives the whole team a place in the sunlight – and there’s a lot more to Bach’s B minor suite than just the tune that launched a thousand ringtones. Vivaldi delivers double the enjoyment of his Four Seasons in his extraordinary Concerto for Two Violins – and you might have heard Handel’s Water Music during last year’s Queen’s Jubilee River Pageant. But it’s even more enjoyable on dry land!
