The film tells the story of Bobby Dorfman (Eisenberg) who arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry.
However, the slightly neurotic east coaster is not a natural fit in Tinsel Town, but his powerhouse uncle Phil (Steve Carell) helps out, giving him a job at his talent agency and introducing him to his beautiful secretary Vonnie (Kristen Stewart). Bobby falls in love, and despite it being unrequited, he finds himself swept up in the vibrant café society that defined the spirit of the age.

A comedy tinged with heartbreak, looking at true love and unsatisfactory options with stellar performances.
