Indie director Jim Jarmusch’s (Broken Flowers) new film is a poetic twist on the vampire genre starring Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton as undead lovers Adam and Eve.

A reclusive rock star, Adam lives in a dark decadent mansion in Detroit whilst Eve is in Tangiers with her mentor and blood-supplier, the playwright Christopher Marlowe (Hurt). The lovers’ eternal affair is rekindled when Eve rejoins Adam in Detroit but their idyllic nocturnal lifestyle is soon disrupted by the arrival of Eve’s reckless younger sister Ava (Wasikowska).

Jarmusch’s mix of literary and musical references with his typical deadpan humour makes for an eccentrically elegant addition to the gothic genre.

“The reason to see this is Swinton and Hiddleston’s sexy, pallid double act.” ★★★★ The Telegraph

“A passionate and consummately chic essay on science, music, time and above all love.” Screen International
