Chocolat director Lasse Hallström teams up with Helen Mirren in this culture-clash comedy in the vein of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, about the rivalry between restaurateurs Madame Mallory (Mirren) and Papa Kadam (Puri) in the south of France.

When the Kadam family opens an Indian restaurant across the road from Madame Mallory’s Michelin-starred Gallic eatery, the two formidable restaurateurs butts heads and are soon locked in a fierce competition. However, relations begin to thaw when Papa’s son Hassan falls for Madame Mallory’s sous chef, Marguerite.

Helen Mirren and Om Puri bring a touch of class to this film which mixes the finest Indian spice with a pinch of European flair and serves up a new cinematic dish.
