Are you between 8 and 12 (school years 4 – 7)? Do you want to improve your drama skills? Would you like to perform at Warwick Arts Centre? Yes! Then the Warwick Arts Centre Youth Theatre could be the place for you.

Our popular Youth Theatre meets weekly and offers the opportunity to learn new drama skills, develop creativity, work as an ensemble, increase confidence and make new friends. Led by University of Warwick students on a mentored programme, our youth theatre groups have a chance to see professional shows for free and an exciting performance opportunity at the end of each 10 week term.

Who can join?
The Youth Theatre is made up of two groups:
Juniors: 8 – 12 year olds (school years 4 – 7)
Seniors: 12 – 16 year olds (school years 8 – 11)

When is it?
Both groups will meet 11am – 1.15pm every Saturday morning during University of Warwick term time.

Each term runs for 10 weeks with 2020 dates as follows:
Summer Term: Saturday 25 April – Saturday 27 June 2020

What happens?
The sessions cover a wide range of skills including text, improvisation, ensemble work, and of course lots of games, all based around a termly theme or stimulus. It also gives you the opportunity to increase confidence, make new friends and improve team work.

The youth theatre see a professional show at Warwick Arts Centre each term and create original performances at the end of each term. In the Summer term, it’s all hands on deck to perform in one of Warwick Arts Centre’s professional venues.

How much is it?
Youth Theatre costs £55 per term for Saturday groups, and is paid via the box office at the start of each term.
