Our Spaces
Warwick Arts Centre is situated at the heart of the University of Warwick in Coventry. One of the largest arts centres in the UK with audiences that number 200,000+ a year, it’s much more than a single venue.
Our outstanding performance venues – Concert Hall, Theatre, Studio, Cinema and Gallery, plus new creative space/rehearsal room, make us quite unique.
Seating plans for the Butterworth Hall, Theatre and Cinema can be downloaded from this page. The Studio is a flexible space so a seating plan is not available.
Butterworth Hall
With a maximum capacity of 2092 this concert hall has an outstanding natural acoustic and is the home of our International Concert Series, as well as the majority of our music gigs and big name comedians. Having undergone a £8 million redevelopment in 2008/09, it reopened in October 2009 with new seating, new stage, improved acoustic and access, plus fantastic new dressing rooms, artist facilities and rehearsal room.
Theatre
Seating up to 550, audiences are assured of an excellent view of the stage and comfortable seating in this well-designed auditorium. The theatre stages the best national and international plays and performances, as well as contemporary and international dance, music and comedians.
Studio
With an intimate feel, this 180 capacity theatre has a flexible seating arrangement, which suits small-scale theatre, comedians and the occasional music event.
Cinema
With dolby digital sound and air conditioning, our 220 seater cinema stages the best independent cinema 364 days a year.
Mead Gallery
One of the biggest exhibition spaces in the Midlands, the Mead is a cool, white, light space presenting touring shows and newly curated exhibitions during term times. It is located above the Cinema and is open from noon to 9pm Monday to Saturday. Admission is free.
