Student Collaboration (Breaking Eggs)
It's a core aim of ours to support the next generation of artists and arts audiences. Which is why we have had some incredible, exciting collaborations with students and societies in the past. Now we are looking to make it easier for more students to share their emerging ideas and talent.
In Summer 2024 look out for the following Breaking Eggs Collaborations with Warwick Arts Centre:
Writing Letters (And Never Sending Them) by Morgan Brame
This will be a staged reading of verbatim transcripts from interviews with victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers, counsellors, and a wider community of LGBTQ+ voices on their experiences with hate crimes due to sexual orientation.
This piece uses their words and an original live score to create a listening and reflection space for the stories, which combine into a wider discussion on the public image, safety and experiences of queer individuals in the UK.
svono svono and Friends by Ashwin Ranasinghe-de Silva
This will be a performance of original instrumental music from svono svono’s albums, with visuals. It will be a thought provoking and cinematic journey with very emotional and powerful moments, and intricate live + ambient performances.
Got an idea for collaboration? Here's our house-keeping:
- We are able to support up to two student collaboration events a term.
- We can only accept submissions from University of Warwick students.
- These events can take the shape of performances, workshops, talks, screenings and more.
To ensure the process is fair and open to all, we ask that students complete an Expression of Interest form and prepare a presentation.
A panel of our staff members will then meet on a termly basis to select which events we can host and support. Please download our information pack to find out more.
When we are accepting applications again, you will be able to download an Expression of Interest form.
Timelines
We will be accepting applications for Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025 events from Sept - October 2024.
The deadline for submitting your Expression of Interest form will be updated soon.
We will then notify candidates of shortlisting and send out a Template Slide Deck for Shortlistees to complete. You will then be invited to present your ideas to our panel.
Keep an eye out, we'll be updating this timeline shortly!
Enjoy your visit
