Celebrating National Volunteer's Week

Posted
Tuesday 3 June 2025

National Volunteers' Week is celebrated to thank volunteers across the UK who offer their time, commitment, and support to organisations. Our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Arrin, shares some of our volunteer stories and opportunities for how you can get involved.

Volunteering at Warwick Arts Centre means being at the forefront of an incredible range of live performances. Whether you’re into music, comedy, or theatre, there’s always something happening that will make you laugh, cry, or maybe even sing along. And let’s not forget our cinema programme, from indie gems to blockbuster hits, we are proud to offer a unique range of films and fantastic facilities.

Volunteering with us isn’t just checking tickets, it’s about sharing moments and experiences, and forming friendships that last. Whether you’re a student looking get involved with the arts, someone with free time wanting to stay connected, or a lifelong arts lover, you’ll find a warm welcome and a strong sense of belonging.

We deeply value every single volunteer who walks through our doors. You’re not just helping out; you’re playing a crucial role in keeping the magic of the arts alive and accessible for everyone. Your time, energy, and passion help us create unforgettable experiences for thousands of visitors each year.

In return for your support, we offer fun social events, training, and opportunities to grow. Just recently our Christmas sip-and-paint evening was a fantastic opportunity to get together, laugh, relax and make great memories together. Here are some quotes and stories from our current volunteers on how volunteering has impacted them.

Yi Feng:

Volunteering at Warwick Arts Centre (WAC) feels like stepping into a living, breathing canvas, where every shift is a fresh brushstroke of colour, connection and creativity. It's more than ushering people to their seats or clearing trash; it's about being part of something bigger, a dynamic SPARKLE where art and community intersect.

As an international student living in UK for the first time, my WACky time has sharpened my cultural awareness through British comedies and world-class talks and theatre performances.

Alex:

I joined two years ago and not only did I see some great events but met some lovely people also working and volunteering at the Arts Centre.  It made me go out in the winter months rather than sitting alone at home and widened my social circle.

Therese:

I started volunteering as a steward for Warwick Arts Centre in December 2022. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and love performing arts so volunteering as a steward was a no brainer. Volunteering has opened the door to a world of performances I might never have experienced otherwise. My favourite shows so far have been the Kodo Drums, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, Tubular Bells, Stick Man and the Halle Orchestra concerts. Volunteering as a steward has been a joyful and enriching experience that has deepened my appreciation for the arts.

Our volunteer programme is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our visitors. We couldn’t do it without our current volunteers and whole visitor experience team, and we’d love to invite you along to be part of that journey too. Check out our volunteering page to find out more information and how to register your interest.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Enjoy your visit
