Join Our Community Ambassadors Programme

Wednesday 21 January

Warwick Arts Centre is thrilled to announce the launch of its Community Ambassadors Programme. This is an opportunity for local connectors to shape ideas and create experiences that truly belong to the community.

Overview

Do you love the arts?

Do you have a passion for community, creativity, and connection?

Do you enjoy bringing people together, celebrating diversity, shared history, and identity?

When people come together through creativity, something magical happens. Shared experiences build common ground, spark ideas, and inspire action. They allow us to learn, connect, and grow—together.

At Warwick Arts Centre, we believe the arts are for everyone. It's a space where all voices can meet, where creativity thrives, and where every individual is welcomed. Our Creative Learning & Community Programme brings people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds together through the arts.

If this aligns with you, join our Community Ambassadors Programme. Applications are now open and will close on Friday 27 February 2026.

About Community Ambassadors Programme

The Community Ambassadors Programme is a brand new, two-year initiative that places local connectors at its heart. We at Warwick Arts Centre will work in partnership with local communities to design and deliver creative projects that reflect their voices, interests, and cultural identities.

We will recruit three ambassadors from our priority areas of Tile Hill, Canley, Willenhall, Hillfields, and Foleshill to act as community connectors. Ambassadors will collaborate with Warwick Arts Centre to shape ideas together, ensuring that activities are meaningful, inclusive, and responsive to community needs.

This is not about one-way engagement—it’s about building relationships, sharing decision-making, and creating experiences that belong to the community as much as to Warwick Arts Centre. Through this programme, we aim to break down barriers, amplify underrepresented voices, and celebrate the diversity of our region.

Commitment to Diversity

As part of our commitment to increasing the diversity of views within Warwick Arts Centre, we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from groups that are currently underrepresented, including people from the Global Majority.

Global Majority is a collective term that refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the global south, and/or have been racialised as 'ethnic minorities.'

Application Process

Pre-application information sessions

Warwick Arts Centre will host two pre-application open events, offsite in our communities of Tile Hill and Hillfields. In these sessions, people can meet the team, share ideas, gain feedback and hear about our priority audiences. We will be honest about where we are at, and where we want to be – we will communicate our limitations and opportunities truthfully.

Come and meet us

  • Thursday 5 February, 1 - 3pm. Location: Hillfields Community Centre/Watch FM. Note: There will be Arabic and Hindu translator available on the day.
  • Thursday 12 February, 1- 3pm. Location: Tile Hill Library.

How To Apply

We will ask applicants to pitch a short proposal. This could be written, a voice note or a slide deck. The pitch is an exercise to evaluate applicant creative thinking and connections. It won’t necessarily be the programme you bring to life in the ambassador programme.

Your proposal will need to cover the following:

  • A summary of a proposed activity, to include what you will do, where, when and with who. It doesn’t need to be a complete idea!
  • A statement on why you are interested in this work and why you would be a good ambassador for what we do at Warwick Arts Centre.
  • What is the key thing you hope to change.
  • A draft budget or a list of things you would need to make your idea happen.

Interview Process

We would like to invite you at Warwick Arts Centre for a face-to-face interview on Tuesday 10 March, where we will invite a shortlist of applicants to answer the following:

  • Tell us about you and your community work.
  • Tell us about the idea you have and how you would like to develop this.
  • Tell us why you would like to be on this programme and what you would like to get out of this experience.
