What's On this Spring Half-Term

Posted
Tuesday 31 January 2023

Dinosaurs, Ant-Man, a talking mollusc and a cat (in boots) are all heading to us this Spring Half-Term.

Dinosaur World Live (Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 Feb 2023) is a roar-some interactive family adventure. The show uses inventive puppetry to bring a host of giant prehistoric creatures to life.

Join Miranda, the daughter of two palaeontologists, as she introduces a Triceratops, Giraffatitan, Microraptor, Segnosaurus and, of course, the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex!

For younger visitors, My First Concert: Stomp And Sing (Thursday 23 Feb 2023) is a relaxed and interactive concert for ages 0-7 years. It sees professional musicians share their passion for classical music.

There are also two Family Sundays (Sunday 19 and 26 Feb 2023) within Spring Half-Term. Each feature free creative artist-led activities for families and run from 1.30pm-4pm.

These regular drop-in activities are all about making, exploring and having fun as a family.

Before the Sunday 26 February session we also have our monthly Family Singing session (11.30am-12.30pm). It's a free drop-in hour of singing, moving and dancing that's open to all ages.

Half- Term films

We're welcoming three exciting movies, perfect for film fans this half-term.

Kick-starting 'phase five' of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is superhero blockbuster Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, (12A TBC, Friday 17 February -Thursday 2 March 2023).

Paul Rudd returns as the shrinking hero with Evangeline Lilly as Wasp. Together, they delve into the strange Quantum Realm and face the villainous Kang.

Continuing the ‘small’ theme, Marcel The Shell With Shoes On (PG, Friday 17 - Wednesday 22 February 2023) is a heart-warming feature. It's based on the series of stop-motion shorts that have wowed the internet.

When a documentary film-maker moves into a new house, he discovers the adorable Marcel - a one inch tall shell who ekes out a colourful existence with his grandmother, Connie, and their pet lint, Alan.

Spinning off from the Shrek film series, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish (PG, Friday 17 - Thursday 23 February 2023) sees the swashbuckling Puss (voiced by Antonio Banderas) discover he's used up eight of his nine lives. But could the mythical Wishing Star give him his lost lives back?

Did you know?

Both Puss In Boots: The Last Wish and Marcel The Shell With Shoes On are nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards 2023.

We hope to see you this half term!
