Student symphony orchestra on stage in Butterworth Hall

Student Music Centre

There's no music degree at Warwick, so everything we do in the Music Centre is for all students and staff to enjoy, no matter their subject of study. We have societies representing a wide range of musical genres, tuition is available, and there are rooms for practice and performance.

With more than twenty ensembles, there are plenty of opportunities for getting involved in the musical life of the University. All our ensembles are run by students, and several have professional directors. We cater for all standards, from complete beginners to more experienced musicians, the majority of groups are unauditioned - and everyone is welcome to join in or come along to one of our many concerts.

Our Director of Music is supported by a visiting staff of fantastic peripatetic tutors for a wide variety of instruments and voices. The tutors also coach & advise students in workshops and masterclasses, bringing a wealth of professional experience and expertise to our musical community.

Music Scholarships

The Music Centre offers three types of financial assistance to students at the University, for students from all disciplines. Scholarships and Exhibitions are awarded to undergraduates only, and Bursaries are available to all students.
