Relaxed performances are specifically designed to welcome people who will benefit from a more relaxed performance environment, including families with young children, people with an Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorders, or a learning disability. There is a relaxed attitude to noise and movement and some small changes made to the light and sound effects.
Our next relaxed performances are:
The Bone Ensemble’s Gulp!
Sun 2 Feb 2020 11am
D/deaf, partially D/deaf and EAL/ESOL and non-English speaking audiences: the characters in the show don’t rely on spoken English. They also use a lot of gestures to help communicate with the audience, and the show is highly visual in style. The show is accessible without a signer or captions.
Limina Immersive’s Cirque du Soleil in Virtual Reality
Sat 8 & Sun 9 Feb 2020
Accessible for wheelchair users and D/deaf people. Headsets are adaptable for various headgear and hair types, as well as glasses wearers. You can try the headset with and without glasses during the ‘on-boarding’ section of the show to see which feels best. There is plenty of time allowed to make sure you are comfortable.
Oily Cart’s Jamboree
Sat 14 Mar 2020 2pm & 7pm
This performance is designed to welcome audience members who will benefit from a more relaxed environment in the theatre. The performance itself will remain the same but the house lights will be increased and the doors may stay open so the audience can come and go as they please. A chill out space is available in the foyer. Lights and sound in the performance may be altered for those with sensory sensitivities.
