Introduced by the artist, Simon Faithfull, the day includes talks, performances and films which together examine the legacy of Buster Keaton and his influence on conceptual art practice. In particular the day will focus on the sculptural aspects of Keaton’s film making; the genius of his improvisation with objects and materials and the humour with which he was able to transform the commonplace into a rarity.
There will be talks and presentations from academics from The University of Warwick as well as guest speakers, with screenings and presentations by artists including Robin Deacon, Simon Faithfull and Ruth Proctor. The event is followed by An Evening of Performances.
A full programme for the day, including details of all contributors will be posted here shortly. Registration for this event takes place at 10am; lunch is not included in the ticket price.
