Written by Jean-Claude Carrière and Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque, Chico & Rita), this black and white film is an exquisitely crafted reflection on art, life and death.

It’s summer 1943 and veteran sculptor Marc Cros (Rochefort) is living and working in occupied France, close to the Spanish border. Hoping to inspire her ageing husband, wife Léa (Cardinale) brings home a beautiful young Spanish refugee to be his muse. Whilst the artist and his model slowly develop a bond, the chaos of the world outside the studio soon begins to seep in.
