We will not end our days in grey born blight – and stomp our hours away in fag end waste… But what’s the future lads for us?
East is angry, sexual, comic and provocative; a non-linear narrative of the inhabitants of 1970s East End. Through the course of the play, the characters relate stories of their lives, revealing their relationships with each other and, through self-examination, give an insight into their mindsets. All this is framed within an inescapable and unforgiving television set, and performed in Steven Berkoff’s energetic and iconic style of physical theatre.
