It seems everyone has an opinion on Woody Allen. An intensely private individual, the last 20 years has seen Allen’s personal life overtake a prodigious output that has averaged one film a year.

Haydn Smith will look back over the director’s immense body of work to present a thematic biography of the cinematic Woody Allen – the character we recognise from his performances and on-screen alter-egos.

The talk will be followed by a screening of the film Allen has often stated is his own favourite, The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985).
