This weekend course provides an intensive and hopefully fun introduction to screenwriting through a combination of written exercises, film clip analysis and script reading and presentations.

The aim is to introduce the craft of screenwriting and enable attendees to develop their own creative expression through the medium of screenwriting through illustration, application and practice. The course mainly focuses on film, although discussion and clips may well include TV drama.

By the end of the weekend we expect attendees to be able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding and awareness of the key dramatic tools and techniques of writing for screen, as well as to leave with at least one clear idea for a screenplay which they may wish to work on after the course.

Lee Thomas has 15 years feature and shorts drama experience in production and development. He has secured first look development deals with Film 4, the Media programme and was Head of Production & Development for a Regional Screen Agency.
