A Journey with The Waste Land is a unique and exciting opportunity for visitors to be involved in the curation of an exhibition responding to T. S. Eliot’s great poem. This
exhibition, organised to coincide with the centenary of the end of World War I, will premiere at Turner Contemporary in Margate. From Margate, it will tour to Leeds Art Gallery and, in 2018, to the Mead Gallery
The Waste Land has inspired an extraordinary diversity of work over the years – from artists including Francis Bacon, Cy Twombly, Reg Butler and Mario Merz. For this special evening event, independent curator and researcher, Mike Tooby and exhibition project coordinator Trish Scott, will be introducing both T.S. Eliot’s poem and the project.
The event will include a reading of the poem. Refreshments will be provided.
