Whit Stillman (Metropolitan) adapts an unpublished 18th century Jane Austen novella starring Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny. Remaining faithful to the tone and tenor of his source material, Love and Friendship is a refined and very witty comedy of manners. Stillman’s script is filled with sharp wit, much of it deployed superbly straight-faced by Beckinsale’s Lady Susan and a charming and relatable look at a multitude of romantic entanglements.
