Far from the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, Mark Renton, surrounded and engulfed by friends and associates, struggles to come to terms with a seemingly meaningless existence. Renton tells the stories of their massively dysfunctional and self-destructive youths; we watch as they are absorbed into the filthy hedonism of a life addicted to skag, relationships fall apart and the answer to life’s problems can only be found at the bottom of a syringe.
Trainspotting adapted by Harry Gibson, based on the novel by Irvine Welsh is a student production by WUDS – Warwick University Drama Society.
