When young migrant Aryan (Jéger) is shot fleeing Syria, he surprises everyone by rising from the dead and discovering that he can fly. Soaring out of danger, he finds himself in the hands of dubious Doctor Stern (Ninidze) who immediately realises the money-making potential of offering salvation from an ‘angel’ to patients for an extra fee. Part social satire, part superhero origin story, Jupiter’s Moon is a musing on faith, the refugee crisis and society’s fear of The Other.
