This exquisite, layered adaptation of Chekov’s classic finds a group of friends and family gathered for a seemingly jovial weekend in the countryside. Yet, under the surface, Nina (Ronan) pines desperately for Irina’s (Bening) partner Boris (Stoll), a celebrated playwright, whilst Masha (Moss) fights a battle with her own unrequited love.
