Gripping storytelling, live music and striking visual effects take the young audiences on a heart-wrenching journey as they follow Shakespeare’s star crossed lovers towards their tragic end.

Performance & Education Package :
Created by Contender Charlie, one of the UK’s foremost theatre education companies, this is an immersive and unforgettable reimagining of Romeo and Juliet created for Years 5 to 8 (KS2 and KS3). Teachers and students are given the opportunity to enhance their theatre visit through an onstage workshop, teacher CPD and online resources.

Performance and Workshop:
Tue 5 – Fri 8 March, 10am & 1.15pm (1h 45min)
Sitting either side of the action (in traverse) the children experience the story up close through live music, thrilling projected effects and Shakespeare’s beautiful text. Following the performance, students return to the theatre to meet and talk with the characters in a post-show workshop – focusing on emotional and creative development.

Tue 26 Feb, 4.30 – 6.00pm – Creative Learning Space
This twilight session will cover how to use the online resources with confidence after the performance and inform teachers of how to utilise Contender Charlie’s ‘mythodrama’ approach in the classroom. Refreshments provided.

Aims to give practical activities to enrich the theatre experience and support on-going learning opportunities in the classroom. It will provide a range of creative, discussion and written based activities linked to PSHE, Drama, English and Citizenship.
