Argentine Tango is a partner dance that developed over the last century in Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires. It is an interpretive, improvisational social dance that allows the dancers to develop a deep connection between themselves, the music, and the environment in which they are dancing

This workshop is An Introduction to Argentine Tango by Spanish born and international choreographer Avatâra Ayuso.

To enjoy the workshop, you don’t need any dance experience, or a dancing partner. You just need to show an interest for social dancing, and be aware that Argentine tango is very different from the tango in International and American ballroom dancing competitions.

While enjoying traditional Argentine songs, you will learn to walk on the music beat, to develop understanding of the complementary roles of leader and follower (all participants will experience both) and some simple step sequences to help you start a social dance.
