Wong Kar-wai’s masterpiece is a profound and sublimely beautiful evocation of romantic longing.

Hong Kong, 1962: Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and Su Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk) move into adjacent apartments. Their encounters are solely formal – until a painful discovery creates a secret, intimate bond between them. With its aching musical soundtrack and exquisite cinematography, In the Mood for Love has been a major stylistic influence on the past 25 years of cinema.
