Molly Manning Walker’s startlingly frank, stylish debut follows three teenage girls on a rites-of-passage holiday.

Join us for a special screening of How to Have Sex, a highly acclaimed film that offers an evocative and nuanced portrayal of sex, consent and female friendship. Shy Tara (Mia McKenna-Bruce) and her more confident friends are seeking drinks, sun and sex at a Cretan resort. But when a night of hedonism turns sour, Tara starts to question her experiences, her friendships and her future, even as the partying continues around her.

Content Warning: This film includes depictions of sexual assault.

Zine-making workshop

The screening will be followed by a zine and collage making workshop, facilitated by Polina Zelmanova (Film and Television Studies). Through the creative process of zine and collage making, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their viewing of the film and its themes. The workshop will provide space for casual conversations and discussions of the film in a supportive environment, creating an opportunity for connection. All materials will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring their own images or any other creative materials for more personal creations.

No previous experience is needed. All are welcome!
