Leap onto the dancefloor and discover the enduring legacy of the cultural phenomenon that is Northern Soul – one of Britain’s most iconic music movements.

Ignited in the working class communities of the North and the Midlands in the late 60s and 70s, northern soul melded youth culture, high-energy dancing and uptempo American soul music in an exhilarating underground scene. Starting with its birth in celebrated all-nighters at the legendary Wigan Casino, this infectious documentary examines the roles that the music and DJs, dance, drugs, politics, class, fashion and much more have played in keeping the embers of Northern Soul burning today.
