Can This Be the Best of All Possible Worlds?
Opera Warwick presents Candide, a whirlwind, globe-trotting adventure packed with satire, romance and chaos.
Guided by the ever-optimistic Pangloss, Candide and his beloved Cunegonde face disaster, danger and absurdity at every turn. Set beneath the big top, their journey unfolds in a vibrant circus world of tumbling acrobats, soaring aerial performers and a mysterious ringmaster pulling the strings.
As optimism is stretched to its limits and the world spins wildly around them, Voltaire’s sharp wit and biting irony spring to life through the breathtaking music of Leonard Bernstein, composer of West Side Story.
