Warwick Chinese Society presents Blood and Desire, a profound Chinese double bill exploring the boundaries of sacrifice and self-discovery.

The evening begins with the black comedy Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, following sixty-year-old Xu Sanguan as he revisits the absurd, heart-wrenching moments he traded his blood to ensure his family's survival.

Following an interval, the philosophical Green Snake offers a bilingual reimagining of a classic legend, deconstructing female desire and the search for an independent identity.

Performed in Mandarin with English surtitles, these plays blend traditional motifs with contemporary storytelling to examine the human spirit.
