Reimagining the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless, Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague is a playful, poignant love letter to cinema.

Guillaume Marbeck plays Godard at the dawn of his career, directing Jean Seberg (Zoey Deutch) and Jean-Paul Belmondo (Aubry Dill) on the streets of Paris. Working alongside key players like Francois Truffaut (Adrien Rouyard), Claude Chabrol (Antoine Besson) and Roberto Rossellini (Laurent Mothe), the pressure to produce a masterpiece is impossible to escape. Beautifully shot in monochrome, Nouvelle Vague is an ode to the transformative period that spawned modern cinema.
