A sumptuous and irreverent saga of genius, rivalry and treachery, Miloš Forman’s multi Oscar-winning masterpiece returns in a new 4K restoration.

Inside an asylum, aged composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) recalls the events of decades earlier, when giddy, giggling musical prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce) first emerged in the court of Emperor Joseph II. Poisoned by envy, self-professed ‘patron saint of mediocrity’ Salieri is incensed that God could bless such an obnoxious brat with divine inspiration – and devises a duplicitous scheme that will be the downfall of them both.
