David Bowie leads a who’s who cast of British musical talent in Julien Temple’s vivid 1986 musical.
1950s London: 19-year-old photographer Colin (Eddie O'Connell) falls hopelessly in love with model Crepe Suzette (Patsy Kensit) and gets in touch with a pop promoter (Bowie) in the hopes of making it big in music. Adapted from Colin MacInnes’ era-defining 1959 novel, Absolute Beginners captures the birth of the ‘teenager’: rejecting post-war ennui, hip to new cultural currents and relishing the vibrancy of London’s Notting Hill.
