Modern Clay: Kurinuki Lidded Boxes
Tickets: £21
This workshop is inspired by the exhibition, Takuro Kuwata, Tea Bowl Punk.
The workshop takes place 6pm - 8pm.
Kurinuki is a Japanese pottery technique where solid pieces of clay are shaped and hollowed out by carving.
Considering ideas of chance and imperfection that are present in Takuro Kuwata’s exhibition, you will learn the kurinuki technique to make a unique lidded box.
Lidded boxes made in this session will be fired and glazed and added to the gallery studio display, to be returned to participants when the exhibition finishes.
This workshop is led by artist and Modern Clay co-director Joanne Masding.
