A troubled single mother tries to keep her family afloat in Jasmin Gordon’s sure-handed debut feature.
A tiny, perfectly formed drama set in Switzerland’s stunning Valais region, The Courageous follows 40-year-old Jule, a single mother on the edge of society with three children she’s trying to raise properly, poverty and a criminal ankle bracelet notwithstanding. Crushed by past mistakes, she'll do anything to prove to her children – and to herself – that she still is a good person.
