Winner of the 2025 Palme d’Or and nominated for Best International Feature at the upcoming Oscars, Jafar Panahi’s latest is a searing parable of state violence and revenge.
Azerbaijani mechanic Vahid (Vahid Mobasseri) was once imprisoned by Iranian authorities. During his sentence, he was interrogated blindfolded. One day, a man named Eghbal (Ebrahim Azizi) enters his workshop. His prosthetic leg creaks, and Vahid thinks he recognises one of his former torturers. Will he take his vengeance or let him go? Veteran filmmaker and democratic activist Panahi (Taxi Tehran, No Bears) interrogates the idea of justice for people who have committed atrocious acts against others.
