Christmas Lectures
Tickets: £6
Our award-winning Warwick Christmas Lectures return!
Join Ally Caldecote and some of our favourite scientists from the University of Warwick who are leaving their labs to entertain, inspire and amaze audiences.
Bring your family and friends, pull on your festive jumper and join us for an evening of mind-boggling science and explosive experiments!
Wednesday 26 November
Are we really made of stardust? Can you stop an outbreak of upset tummies amongst Santa’s elves? Do you dare play ‘Mince Pie or Custard Pie’?
Join Professor Andrew Levan, Dr Saran Shantikumar and Dr Dan Todkill, and Dr Kerry Baker as they share the answers to these questions and explore astronomy, epidemiology and… well… custard pies!
Wednesday 10 December
Is a vacuum just a whole lot of nothing? How did the planet we call home form? Will ‘Elf and Safety’ ruin Christmas? Surprising discoveries with Professor Gavin Bell, Professor Rachel Edwards and Dr Phil Jemmett, and Dr Tim Pearce and Dr Maria de Juan Ovelar as they look into Astro Physics, Vacuums (not that kind) and better ways to test Christmas presents than hitting them with Phil’s giant hammer.
We’ll have Live Labs with Warwick Institute of Engagement in our foyer spaces from 5.30pm, so you can get up close and hands on with real-life science before the Christmas Lectures begin.
The Christmas Lectures is a collaboration between Warwick Arts Centre, University of Warwick’s Department of Physics and China Plate Theatre. With thanks to the Warwick Institute of Engagement for the Live Labs.
