UK-based santoor player and Hindustani vocalist Kaviraj Singh is recognised as one of Europe’s leading young Hindustani classical musicians.
His mastery of the santoor and voice, combined with his rhythmical sophistication and cross-cultural sensibility, has made him a sought-after artist and earned him significant acclaim.
Kaviraj Singh is a UK-based santoor player and Hindustani vocalist, trained since age six under his father, sitarist Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE, and later under Ustad Harjinderpal Singh (a senior disciple of legend Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma) for santoor, as well as under Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty for vocal music. His mastery of the santoor and voice, combined with his rhythmical sophistication and cross-cultural sensibility, has made him a sought-after artist and earned him significant acclaim in the world of Indian classical music.
Kaviraj will be joined by Narinderjit Singh Lallie. Narinderjit Singh Lallie has been playing Tabla from the young age of 5. He has been engaged in teaching and performing for over 35 years.
He is a disciple of the legendary Pandit Sharda Sahai and the Benaras style of tabla.
He has performed in concert halls venues, temples and festivals all around the world with a diverse variety of musical traditions and artists.
Narinderjit has a deep passion for spreading the teachings his Guru ji passed down to him.
Rooted in the ethos that learning should be experiential and not just a transfer of knowledge. His teaching is inspired by the oral tradition, where students are challenged to use a wider range of senses and techniques to support their learning.
