Young people playing violins

Instrumental for Schools

Every year we set aside free tickets for secondary school students in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull who are studying music, learning an instrument, or just have a passion for classical music.

About the programme

The Instrumental Programme offers free tickets to schools for young people to experience some of the best live performers in the world.

Over an academic year, schools from Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull have access to 1,000 free tickets across our concerts.

We can also work with schools to design and customise their visits, with options to include backstage tours, pre-concert talks and off-site visits by Arts Centre staff.

Supporting curriculum goals

The Instrumental Programme supports teachers in achieving Music curriculum aims, specifically to:

  • "Listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians"
  • "Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated, including through inter-related dimensions"

How to apply

To request free tickets, please get in touch with our Group Bookings Coordinator.

We ask you to provide 14 days notice if you can no longer attend a concert or additional activity (charges may apply). Full details and terms and conditions will be sent to schools in advance.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share some of the marvellous classical music at the Arts Centre with our pupils. The discussions on the minibus on the way back to school were all about their favourite bits and favourite instruments.
