5 Cinema Highlights for October 2023

Tuesday 17 October

Spooky Season is upon us (From the spooky to the Scorsese). We have 5 scarily good films to highlight for you this October.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese brings his moving methodical masterpiece, Killers of the Flower Moon (From Fri 20 Oct). This potent period piece will be the 10th film Scorsese and De Niro have collaborated on together and is 50 years on from their first time working together on Mean Streets. With powerful performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro, this is a film of epic proportions.

Foe

Starring Irish Gems, Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal (Both Oscar nominated), Garth Davis’ psychological sci-fi thriller, Foe (From Fri 20 Oct), is eerie and exciting in equal measure.

This haunting exploration of the not-too-distant future is Black Mirror-esque in tone. Raising questions about the nature of humanity, identity and what the future holds.

The Killer

An assassin’s odyssey takes an unexpected twist in David Fincher’s technical thriller, The Killer. Fincher and Fassbender formulate a formidable figure, as the cold and methodical protagonist waits in the shadows for his next target. Battling his head and his employers we are led on an international manhunt in this slick, gritty and surprisingly funny thriller.

Mystery Halloween Film

We are excited to bring you our second ever mystery film screening (Tue 31 Oct only!), this time with a spooky twist on All Hallows’ Eve. A cinematic journey into the unknown where you won't know what you're seeing until the lights go down!

What could be lurking in the dark?

Screening Rights Film Festival

We are thrilled to welcome back Screening Rights Film Festival (Thu 26 Oct – Sun 29 Oct) for another year at Warwick Arts Centre.
