What's on in the Gallery

This June, there’s still plenty of time to catch our stunning exhibitions right here in the Mead Gallery at Warwick Arts Centre (until Sunday 22 June). FREE entry (Open Tue – Sun, 11am – 8pm).

The Mead Gallery is delighted to present the first institutional exhibition in the UK of revered Okinawan photographer Mao Ishikawa. Running simultaneously is a solo exhibition of London-based artist, Mike Silva.

Ishikawa is renowned for her raw images of daily life in her home of Okinawa which examine the complex colonial, racial, and sexual dynamics relating to those who call this island home. Meanwhile, Silva’s paintings bring to life portraits, landscapes, and interiors through capturing subtle shifts of light in intimately observed moments.

Don’t miss out on seeing Growing, Changing, Becoming, also in the gallery until 22 June. Featuring artwork from our Youth Leadership Collective and Key Stage 1 pupils on our Classroom of Creativity Primary Schools project, this wonderfully interactive exhibition tells the story of what it means to grow up in Coventry and forms an investigation of past, present, and future selves.
