Half-term family fun at Warwick Arts Centre

Posted
Wednesday 11 February

Spring Half-Term is upon us which means that there’s no time like the present to plan some family fun! For entertaining films and shows here in Coventry, look no further than what’s on here at Warwick Arts Centre.

Films for the family

Have you spotted our relaxed screenings? Relaxed screenings are the perfect setting to watch a film together as a family as they have a relaxed approach to noise and movement in the cinema. A quiet space or chill-out area is also available, so it’s perfect for kids. What’s even better is that the lights will be slightly turned up it means you can complete activities while the film runs so every child is happy!

Check out our family film, The Secret of Kells, a dazzling Oscar-nominated animation which is a sumptuous tale of friendship and creativity in medieval times.

Live events to look forward to

There are wonderful live events suitable for kids of all ages coming up this half-term. Brave Bettie is perfect for children interested in nature and animals, so join for an exciting woodland adventure told through poetry, song, live music and stories.

If you and your children are fans of Julia Donaldson, you can’t miss Tales from Acorn Wood Live! This show brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved Tales from Acorn Wood stories to life on stage for the first time in an enchanting lift-the-flap experience. Join us for toe-tapping songs, puppetry, and all the friends from Acorn Wood for a half-term treat.

Or, for something different, get your curiosity flowing with Rude Science!, for a fascinating spectacle. Enjoy BBC Gastronaut Stefan Gates’ revolutionary, high-tech, highly-explosive new show, packed with outrageous science stunts.

Stef is the high-octane presenter of 20 TV series (five for CBBC) and award-winning author of 12 books (including Rude Science). He’s internationally renowned for his world-class science stage shows.

Let’s get musical

Calling all fans of music: don’t miss out on this mesmerising performance by University of Warwick Chamber Orchestra for a fun-packed interactive adventure where you will meet different instruments of the orchestra! Hear the story of Peter and the Wolf in concert here this half-term.

Looking after little ones this February? Turn up the fun this half-term at My First Concert: We Will Rock You. This relaxed and interactive concert is designed especially babies, children and their adults. Featuring free pre-concert workshops and some amazing musicians, make sure to get it in your diaries whether it’s your first concert or your 100th!

Check out what’s on this spring half-term for a full week of fun. Plus, you can still explore our ongoing exhibition and clay studio in the Mead Gallery, or to take a stroll around our Sculpture Park this half-term.
