It’s back-to-school season, so make your family time count this September! If you’re trying to plan the perfect family day out this month, there’s something for everyone this September here at the Arts Centre. Why not be inspired by some of this month’s highlights?

What's on in the Gallery

This September, the Mead Gallery welcomes you to a very exciting event which forms one of our celebrations for the University of Warwick’s landmark 60th Anniversary. So, prepare to be blown away by a ground-breaking experience that mixes music, Virtual Reality, and gaming. In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats, created by immersive artist Darren Emerson and produced by East City Films, will take you back to 1989 and into the heart of the Acid House scene in Coventry. Offering an interactive rave experience, it is not one to be missed!

What’s even better is that this experience is designed for groups of up to 4 people, making it ideal for you to bring your friends or family, so be sure to book!

For a fun family outing, treat yourself with a trip to the cinema this September. Find inspiration in our staff pick of the month, where our team shares the films they love so you can enjoy them here on the big screen. This month’s pick, chosen by our Screen Administrator, Sam Matthews, is The Sound of Music. This beloved film has been restored and remastered in 4K for its 60th anniversary, so there’s no better time to enjoy it in all its glory on the big screen!

Also get excited for some fabulous theatre coming to the big screen this month, such as the highly anticipated National Theatre Live: Inter Alia, featuring Rosamund Pike. Another must-seen for fans of theatre include our screenings of Next to Normal, a musical which not only boasts a fantastic, star-studded cast, but has also won 3 Tony Awards® and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (one of only ten musicals to win the prestigious award).
