Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition
Handel’s Messiah needs little introduction. British classical music audiences have had a love affair with this celebrated oratorio since its premiere in 1742. In this performance, we’ll bring you many of the highlights of this epic work.
The performance will also feature Mussorgsky’s magnificent Pictures at an Exhibition, originally written as a musical memorial to his friend, the artist Viktor Hartmann.
Originally a piano piece which has been arranged numerous times, The University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra will play the most famous arrangement by master orchestrator Maurice Ravel.
