Join us for a screening of Charli XCX: Alone Together, followed by a panel discussion with queer student society members and researchers from the University of Warwick. Co-created with Charli XCX’s LGBTQ+ fans during the pandemic, the film documents how online queer spaces became vital sites of connection and creativity, while also raising questions about what happens when those digital communities fade. Six years on, this event revisits the film and reflects on both its themes and its limits, opening out into shared forms of listening, conversation and creativity inspired by the film.
Post-screening Panel discussion
The conversation will explore queer community, collaboration and care, using the film as a starting point for relaxed student-led conversation, reflection and connection, shaped by LGBTQ+ voices on campus.
The panel will feature Alice Pember (Film and Television Studies), Polina Zelmanova (Film and Television Studies), Aaron Jagger (President of Warwick Trans* Society) and Hawi Yared (founder of Warwick Qulture).
All are welcome.
