Global pop star Charli XCX’s infectious heart and drive fill this intimate video journal documenting the birth of her fourth album.
In light of the buzz surrounding Charli XCX’s BRAT film era, we’re marking the moment with a special screening of her documentary Charli XCX: Alone Together, accompanied by a pre-recorded Q&A with directors Bradley and Pablo and an in-person panel discussion with queer student researchers from the University of Warwick.
Co-created with Charli XCX’s LGBTQ+ fans, the film captures how online queer spaces became vital sites of connection and creativity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Six years on, this event revisits the film to reflect on its themes and its limits, opening up a student-led conversation on queer community, collaboration and care.
Post-screening Panel discussion
The panel will feature SCAPVC PhD students Polina Zelmanova (AHRC Midlands4Cities, Screening Sex Network) and Aaron Jagger (AHRC Midlands4Cities, President of Warwick Trans* Society) and be chaired by Dr Alice Pember (Department of Film and Television Studies).
All are welcome.
