A gripping tale of family, obsession, and betrayal.
Presented by Warwick University Drama Society and The Drama Collective, A View from the Bridge is a play by American playwright Arthur Miller.
Set in an Italian-American neighbourhood on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge, the play follows the unraveling of Eddie Carbone after the arrival of two of his wife’s cousins from Italy. Obsessed with his niece, Catherine, Eddie feels increasingly threatened by her burgeoning relationship with one of the cousins.
As events unfold, Eddie loses the ability to manage his feelings, which causes him to betray his relative and, ultimately, lose both his honour and his life.
