Knife explores writer Salman Rushdie’s life, career and recovery following the harrowing 2022 attempt on his life.
Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side) directs this deeply intimate film inspired by Rushdie’s bestselling memoir published. With never-before-seen footage shot by Rushdie’s wife, it’s a graphic, unflinching and intelligent account of Rushdie’s rehabilitation and his continuing struggle for freedom of expression, following both this terrifying attack and the fatwa he lived under for decades following the publication of The Satanic Verses.
