Celebrate the 10-year anniversary edition of a ground-breaking collection exploring the immigrant experience in Britain.

When The Good Immigrant was first published, it lit a fire: telling the truth, starting conversations and irrevocably changing how we talk about race. A collection of 21 leading writers of colour exploring the realities of the immigrant experience in Britain, its wisdom is needed now more than ever.

We bring together three of the original contributors to discuss where we find ourselves 10 years on:

  • Nikesh Shukla: Editor of the anthology, author of fiction and non-fiction books, and the co-founder of The Good Literary Agency, the Jhalak Prize and the Good Journal.
  • Nish Kumar: UK’s leading political comic, and co-host of hugely popular podcast Pod Save the UK.
  • Salena Godden: Award-winning author, poet and broadcaster of mixed Jamaican-Irish heritage.
