Sophie Williamson - World Building While Lying Down
Tickets: £3
World Building Whilst Lying Down is a performance lecture that invites audiences to slow down and think differently about time, productivity and care.
Drawing on disability experience, ecology and everyday observation, Sophie Williamson explores what it means to live in a world that constantly demands speed, energy and output and what becomes possible when bodies refuse, pause or rest.
Presented from a lying down position, the performance moves through moments of attention: breathing, listening to small sounds of the earth, feeling our heartbeats. Rest and stillness are treated not as weakness or failure, but as powerful ways of resisting burnout and imagining other ways of organising life.
Part talk, part performance, this is an accessible and reflective event for anyone interested in art, activism, disability, climate futures or simply how to survive and stay human in an always on world.
Come to listen, lie back and take time to think.
